Located in the much quieter West Bank of Luxor, Fairouz hotel is a peaceful, chilled haven with an incredible garden. After long days exploring the ancient wonders of Luxor, relaxing for lunch in the incredibly chilled hotel garden/ restaurant was a very welcome break. The garden is totally idyllic, filled with wonderful bougainvillea flowers, twittering birds and a few very friendly cats, who one of the hotel staff even managed to lure away from us when we shooed them away as we ate. The staff very friendly and helpful in a laid back, not in your face way, which is exactly what you want after a tiring day or in the morning as you have your breakfast. For a late lunch/ dinner after an early start for a balloon ride followed by a full day of temples, we were greeted with a refreshing lemon juice and ate a generous plate of shish tawook and fried aubergine which was absolutely delicious. The tranquil and green garden in the backyard makes the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring temples and tombs and plan for the days ahead. Breakfast, dinner, and the evening drink are served while little fires add to the relaxed atmosphere.
